Butch Davis started with American Sunroof Company
as General Manager of their San Francisco facility
in 1974. The facility installed sunroofs, chrome
accessories, and a variety of roof packages for
new car dealers.
In 1976, Davis was promoted to the corporate office
in Detroit as Operations Manager of the Aftermarket.
He was responsible for improving the sales and operations
of the eight aftermarket sunroof shops around the
country. American Sunroof was beginning an expansion
in the aftermarket, and Davis was responsible for
the sales and management training, as well as the
start-up training for the new shops as they came
on board.
In 1978, he accepted the position of General Manager
at E & G Classics, Inc. At that time, they were
a manufacturer of chrome accessories that were distributed
nationally through expeditors. They also installed
sunroofs, chrome accessories, and a variety of quarter,
half, and full vinyl roofs for new car dealers.
In 1981, Davis accepted the position of General
Manager at American Sunroof Company of New England,
Inc. They installed sunroofs, chrome accessories,
and a variety of roof packages for new car dealers
throughout New England.
In 1990, Davis founded AMR-Automotive Marketing
Representatives, Inc., an agency that represents
a variety of manufacturers nationally to the automotive
aftermarket, working with expeditors to develop
their new car dealer markets.
In addition to AMR, in 2000, Davis started Dealer
Extras, Inc., a mobile installation company that
installs a variety of accessories, such as: wood
or stainless dash kits, wood or stainless steering
wheels, stainless grilles, rear deck spoilers, and
stainless or chrome trim.
